“… The Shift in Human Nature

You're starting to see integrity change. Awareness recalibrates integrity, and the Human Being who would sit there and take advantage of another Human Being in an old energy would never do it in a new energy. The reason? It will become intuitive, so this is a shift in Human Nature as well, for in the past you have assumed that people take advantage of people first and integrity comes later. That's just ordinary Human nature.

In the past, Human nature expressed within governments worked like this: If you were stronger than the other one, you simply conquered them. If you were strong, it was an invitation to conquer. If you were weak, it was an invitation to be conquered. No one even thought about it. It was the way of things. The bigger you could have your armies, the better they would do when you sent them out to conquer. That's not how you think today. Did you notice?

Any country that thinks this way today will not survive, for humanity has discovered that the world goes far better by putting things together instead of tearing them apart. The new energy puts the weak and strong together in ways that make sense and that have integrity. Take a look at what happened to some of the businesses in this great land (USA). Up to 30 years ago, when you started realizing some of them didn't have integrity, you eliminated them. What happened to the tobacco companies when you realized they were knowingly addicting your children? Today, they still sell their products to less-aware countries, but that will also change.

What did you do a few years ago when you realized that your bankers were actually selling you homes that they knew you couldn't pay for later? They were walking away, smiling greedily, not thinking about the heartbreak that was to follow when a life's dream would be lost. Dear American, you are in a recession. However, this is like when you prune a tree and cut back the branches. When the tree grows back, you've got control and the branches will grow bigger and stronger than they were before, without the greed factor. Then, if you don't like the way it grows back, you'll prune it again! I tell you this because awareness is now in control of big money. It's right before your eyes, what you're doing. But fear often rules. …”

Dutch police launch investigation after tribunal suspect takes poison and dies

DutchNews, November 29, 2017

Photo: UNtv screen shot

Dutch police have begun an investigation into how a defendant on trial at the Yugoslavia war crimes tribunal in The Hague managed to take poison and kill himself after hearing the verdict.

Slobodan Praljak, 72, died in hospital, after swallowing liquid from a small bottle after hearing his 20-year jail term for war crimes had been upheld.

The ex-commander of Bosnian Croat forces, who took the poison in full view of the cameras, said he was not a criminal before drinking from the bottle. As the judge continued reading, he then said: ‘I have taken poison.’

In 2013, Praljak had been sentenced for crimes in the city of Mostar during the Bosnian war from 1992-95.

How Praljak obtained the poison is so far a mystery.  Praljak has been held at a special unit in Scheveningen for tribunal suspects and is allowed free access to visitors and his legal team, broadcaster NOS said.

Visitors have to go through security checks similar to those at an airport. Visitors to the court itself have to go through a similar security procedure.

Smuggling

A Serbian lawyer who has represented suspects at the tribunal told news agency AP that it would be easy to smuggle in a liquid. ‘They check you for metal objects. Pills or small amounts of liquid would not be discovered,’ he said.

Wednesday’s session was the final one to be held at the court since it was established by the United Nations in 1993, two years after the end of the war.

Dutch justice minister Ferdinand Grapperhaus told reporters later that he did not think the Netherlands’ reputation as host of the tribunal had been damaged by Wednesday’s shock death. ‘The Netherlands has always had a very good reputation and has acquitted itself well,’ he said.

The court room has now been declared a crime scene. Dutch lawyer Erik Kok, who worked at the tribunal from 2006 to 2011, told RTL Nieuws it is strange that Praljak took his own life now.

Although he had been sentenced to 20 years in jail, most people are released after serving two-third of their sentence. Given that he had already been in jail for 13 years ahead of the trial, he would have been released in the very near future, Kok said.

How much Shariah is compatible with Western law?

Deutsche Welle, 22 November 2012

Many Muslims in Europe live their private lives according to Shariah law. And many demand that Western courts should take Islamic law into account when making a decision concerning a Muslim citizen.

After they got divorced, a Saudi man didn't want to pay alimony for his Austrian wife. In a Vienna court he quoted the legal situation in his home country to back up his argument. The pair married in Saudi Arabia and Saudi law, which is based on Shariah or Islamic law, is quite clear on the issue: if there's a divorce, a woman only stands to receive alimony for three months and in exceptional cases even a single one-off payment can be enough.

Civil courts across Europe have the option of taking the legal system of the home country of those in court into account. Especially in cases of bi-national marriages this principle can be applied. The Saudi man argued that as he is from a country where Shariah is the official law, the same law should be applied in the European country, in his case Austria, as well.

No Shariah in schools

Can young Muslim girls be forced
to wear headscarves to school?
But it isn't easy to answer the question as to how much of Shariah law can be integrated into the European legal systems. One reason here certainly is the fact that there is no one institution or authority that could interpret the basic tenets of Islamic law and could thereby make possible a comparison with European law. Organizations could, therefore, use this gap to push their own interpretation of Shariah law.

When Germany was debating whether to allow the wearing of a headscarf at German schools, a working group of the German Islam Conference decided that a headscarf could not be banned by schools. For German sociologist of Turkish origin Necla Kelec, who herself was a long-time member of the Conference, this equated to a recommendation to introduce Shariah law to German schools - an idea which she rejects.

"To send a 14-year-old girl to a German school wearing a headscarf for me has nothing to do with freedom of religion nor with the parents' rights to educate their children," Kelec said. "It is a violation of the German basic law which guarantees human dignity, and it also violates the ban on discrimination."

A violation of democratic rights

In most cases when there's a clash between Western and Shariah law, it is over family matters, said historian Heiko Henisch of the Ludwig-Boltzmann Institute of Historical Sociology in Vienna. Can a father force his 14-year-old daughter to wear a headscarf to school? Does a husband have to pay alimony after a divorce? If courts would look to Shariah law for those questions, it would create a parallel legal system for Muslims and grant them separate rights. This would not end well, warned Henisch.

There's no single authority on how
to interpret Shariah law
"Special rights divide a society in arbitrary parts in this case on the basis on religious groups and it does not contribute to integration. Special rights are always taking a collective group, never an individual. And that can in extreme cases lead to the exclusion of an entire part of a country's population," he said.

Henisch also stressed that the parallel use of two legal systems was in violation of two pillars of a democratic country: everyone is equal before the law and that the same laws apply to cases with the same substance.

A global value system

This fear though is unfounded, said Mustafa Ceric, Bosnia and Herzegovina, adding that Shariah represents a Muslim view of the world, a philosophical perspective, a guideline for life - all of which define Muslim identity. Shariah, Ceric said, expressed universal values, just like the Christian Ten Commandments. Legally, this was not relevant for religious law would be applied nowhere across Europe.

"Europe is founded on democracy. The people elect parliaments, parliaments decide on laws, courts implement the laws. Judges don't apply religious laws or take them as standards," Ceric said adding he believes there's too much of a Western fear of Islam behind that debate.

In the case of the Saudi husband, the Vienna court asked whether the Shariah was in fundamental violation of Austrian law. A simple contradiction was not enough to disregard the foreign law code. For that it would have to be a violation of fundamental rights. This would for instance be the case if the right to personal freedom or equality was being violated.

In the end, the Austrian judges found that the rule to only pay alimony for a three month period was not in violation of fundamental rights of the Austrian law codex as cases exist in Austria of no alimony being paid. Therefore, in the name of the people, the court ruled in favor of the Saudi man.

Polish rape victim 'should have had abortion access'

BBC News, 30 October 2012

Poland's abortion laws are among the strictest in Europe

Related Stories

A Polish teenager who became pregnant after rape should have had unhindered access to an abortion, the European Court of Human Rights has ruled.

The girl, who was then 14, was forced to have a clandestine abortion after harassment from pro-life groups led to her being turned away from hospitals.

The court ordered the Polish state to pay the teenager and her mother 61,000 euros (£49,000) in compensation.

Poland's abortion law is among the strictest in Europe.

Terminations are only permitted in cases of rape, incest or when the life of the mother or foetus is in danger.

'Manipulated and helpless'

The unnamed teenager at the centre of this court case became pregnant in 2008 after she was raped at the age of 14.

In accordance with the law, she got a certificate from the public prosecutor confirming that her pregnancy was as a result of unlawful sexual intercourse.

The girl, named only as "P" went to two different hospitals with her mother in her hometown of Lublin in south-east Poland to try and obtain an abortion.

Pro-choice Poles want the Catholic
Church to have less influence over
abortion law
At one, a Roman Catholic priest attempted to convince her to have the child. Hospital management then issued a press release saying they would not perform the procedure, leading to her case becoming caught up in Poland's ongoing debate about abortion.

The girl then travelled to a hospital in Warsaw, but doctors there said they were under pressure not to go ahead with the procedure.

The court documents say the pair left the hospital "feeling manipulated and helpless", after which they were harassed by pro-life groups and eventually taken in for several hours of police questioning.

The authorities then accused the mother of trying to force her daughter into having an abortion and had "P" placed in a juvenile shelter.

She eventually managed to go ahead with the termination in Gdansk, 500km from her home, after the Ministry of Health intervened in the case.

In their ruling, which is subject to appeal, a panel of judges at the European Court of Human Rights found that there had been numerous breaches of the girl's rights.

The court found that she should gave had unhindered access to lawful abortion and that the details of her case should not have been made public by hospital authorities.

The BBC's Adam Easton in Warsaw says that Poland's abortion law is unlikely to become more liberal soon.

Poland's Catholic church is fiercely opposed to any attempts to ease the restrictions and a majority of mainstream politicians support the status quo.

"... I want to define life for you - not biological life, but spiritual life. So for all those intellectuals, just hold on, for many won't like this. Spiritual life, as measured by Spirit, is when a Human has free choice. When is that? It's when they take their first breath. Not in utero. There will be those who will say, "That's wrong, that's wrong. The soul in the woman's body is alive!" Just wait. I'm talking about spiritually. That which Spirit sees, and it's when you come from the other side of the veil and take your first breath.

A child with the mother has no free choice. That child is linked to the choice of the mother until it is born. It is, indeed, a soul in preparation for free choice, and there are many attributes that are spiritual that we have discussed before about how that soul reacts. But now I'm discussing life with polarity [duality], free choice.

But let's discuss that "child inside" for a moment, for there is a process I want you to know about. I want to talk about 240 days into the pregnancy. At about that time, the child has perfect DNA. It hasn't taken its first breath. The DNA hasn't measured the energy of the planet yet, since it is contained. Did you realize that? Inside the womb is a perfect child. The child's DNA has all the attributes of the Akash and also the parent, but it's different in a way you have not been told. The DNA is 100% as designed.

The quantum instructions within the DNA are all talking to the biology of the child,, getting ready for the first breath. ..."

Greece in turmoil as Papandreou tries to salvage government

PM concedes he is unable to muster enough support for cuts required by international creditors to balance Greece's books

The economic and social mayhem gripping Europe's peripheries appeared to have claimed the scalp of another government after the Greek prime minister admitted he could not drive through reforms to shore up the beleaguered economy, and offered to make way for a government of national unity.

After a day on which tens of thousands marched on parliament to oppose the swingeing austerity measures designed to stave off bankruptcy, George Papandreou effectively conceded that he had not been able to muster enough support in parliament for the swingeing cuts required by international creditors to enable Greece to balance its books.

Emerging from intense negotiations with his conservative opposite number, Antonis Samaras, Papandreou said that his bid to create a unity government of broad acceptance had failed.

Catching even his own cabinet ministers off guard, the US-born leader had offered to step down if his political opponent accepted further cost-cutting measures.

"I will form a new government and seek a vote of confidence," the prime minister said in an address to the nation following the talks.

Earlier in the day Papandreou had told Samaras, head of New Democracy, that he would stand aside for a new leader if the opposition joined his party in a national unity government committed to sweeping reform to prevent Greece's tailspinning economy from crashing.

"We're in deadlock. George can't vote through the new package [of spending cuts and tax increases] and the government is unable to deliver what is necessary for the country," a senior aide to the leader told the Guardian. "A new government has to be formed and a new prime minister found … that may be a technocrat, we still don't know, but it seems that this is the only way of winning consensus for the measures."

Greece's economy is drowning in more than €300bn of debt – more than the country's entire annual output. Unemployment has rocketed to 16.2%, and the economy is predicted to contract by as much as 3% this year, making it Europe's worst performing economy, and one of the worst in the world.

Under a bailout agreed with the EU and IMF a year ago, the country was to implement painful austerity measures, cutting spending deeply and privatising large swaths of the economy. Papandreou's plan provided for €6.5bn in tax rises and spending cuts this year.

Samaras, a Harvard-trained economist, has vehemently opposed the measures, arguing their implementation has thrown Greece into a vicious cycle of spiralling debt and recession – a view with which a growing number of Greeks appear to agree.

"Papandreou has essentially resigned … his own MPS are outraged. After today he can no longer be prime minister," said Alexis Papahelas, a prominent political commentator.

A wave of strikes and riots have shown how deeply unpopular the reforms are, and have reduced Athens to a smouldering mess of shattered windows and shuttered storefronts, furious during daytime riots, derelict and desolate by night.

Earlier on Wednesday, police used teargas on demonstrators rallying outside parliament. At least 11 people were injured and another 20 were detained, according to police, as protesters responded by hurling stones and firebombs.

Cafe tables and chairs lay overturned as rubbish bins burned. Heavy clouds of teargas hung over Syntagma Square and wafted as far as the presidential mansion behind parliament, where Papandreou briefed country's president, Karolos Papoulias, on the severity of the situation.

"We want them out. Obviously these measures are not going to get us out of the crisis," Antony Vatselas, a 28-year-old mechanical engineer crying from teargas, told Reuters.

"They want only us to pay for it. And they are doing nothing. I want the debt to be erased. If this doesn't happen, there is no exit for Greece."

Papandreou has suffered plummeting approval ratings and an open revolt from within his own Pasok socialist party over the austerity bill, which is set to increase taxes and cut spending until 2015, two years beyond the current government's mandate.

Several MPs indicated they would not support his reform plan, threatening his slim majority in parliament, where Pasok has 155 seats in the 300-seat chamber.

The only alternative to financial austerity appears to be a default on Greece's large stack of loans, an outcome that European leaders have been desperate to avoid for fear the contagion would ripple through the international financial system.
